Background

Stage 1 construction of Bankstown RSL club was completed by Infinity Constructions in 2019 in Sydney’s western suburbs. Designed by Altis Architecture, this commercial project features a pavement-front cafe, bars, dining and entertainment options as well as parking over four levels. A 250-room Mercure hotel will be built above the club in Stage 2.

KRYFIX provided Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) concrete admixture and Hyperseal Waterstops to this project.

Solution

Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) concrete admixture, Hyperseal D200, Hyperseal X-Seal mastic and Hyperstop DB waterstops were applied to the lift pits, external concrete slab and roof.

Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) is a Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) is a hydrophilic crystalline admixture used to create permanently waterproof concrete. It is used for the treatment of concrete and concrete products to protect against water intrusion, leakage, cracking, chemical attack, and corrosion of reinforcing steel.

Hyperstop DB is a hydrophilic bentonite waterstop is suitable for in-situ concrete construction joints. Hyperseal D200 is a centrally placed waterstop for construction or expansion joints. Hyperseal X-Seal is a single component, solvent-free, hydrophilic mastic which is used for sealing smooth and rough construction joints and pipe penetrations.
