Background
A striking 5 storey office and retail development was built by Kalitek Constructions in Easey St, Collingwood called End 2 End. The crowning glory of this unique building, designed by ITN Architects, are the 3 trains on the roof which not that long ago were in use on Melbourne’s train system. The design is a novel method of preserving some of Melbourne’s transport heritage and form part of the working space of the building which are accessible via lifts.
KRYFIX provided Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) concrete admixture to this project.
Solution
Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM) is a chemical admixture used for the treatment of concrete and concrete products to protect against water intrusion, leakage, cracking, chemical attack, and corrosion of reinforcing steel. KIM has the advantage of being a self-sealing system that transforms concrete into a powerful waterproof barrier.
Our Victorian distributors, Krystol Group Victoria Pty Ltd, provided the contractor, Levcon Constructions, with almost 150m3 KIM concrete admixture product. Our concrete waterproofing admixture product was specified by the engineer, BCE Design, and applied to the 500m2 concrete roof of this iconic development
