Background

Cockram completed construction of Ikea at Tempe, in Sydney’s inner south. This project, which is the largest Ikea in the southern hemisphere, comprises a retail bulky goods showroom & warehouse, 760-seat restaurant and 1775-space carpark over 2 levels. This development also included the conversion of a heritage building located on the site into an administration head office.

KRYFIX provided a range of Hyperseal Waterstops to this $120m project.

Solution

Hyperseal BR, Hyperstop DB and Hyperseal D230 waterstops were applied to the lift pits, travellator pits, basement section and water tanks.

Hyperseal BR waterstops are a high-performance, hydrophilic butyl rubber waterstop which swells to form a long-lasting watertight compression seal. It is suitable for static or low movement construction joints and cold-joints. Hyperstop DB is a hydrophilic bentonite waterstop suitable for in-situ concrete construction
joints. Hyperseal D230 is an externally placed PVC waterstop suitable for construction or expansion joints.
